ETtech Deals Digest: Startups raise $261 million in week ending March 7; up 39% on-year

Startups raised around $260.9 million between March 1 and 7, marking a 39.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

This also represents a 133.7% increase from last week’s total of $111.6 million.

This week, startups across seed, early and late stages, raised funds through 19 deals, compared to 53 deals in the year-ago period, when they raised a total of $187 million, according to data from Tracxn.

Top deals for the week

Darwinbox: Software-as-a-service (SaaS) unicorn Darwinbox, which specialises in human resource (HR) services, has closed a $140 million funding round co-led by global private equity firms Partners Group and KKR. The round—largely secondary with a small primary component—also saw participation by Gravity Holdings.

InsuranceDekho: Insurance marketplace InsuranceDekho has raised $70 million in a funding round co-led by Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), insurer BNP Paribas Cardif through its insurtech fund, and Beams Fintech Fund.

Swish: Bengaluru-based 10-minute food-delivery startup Swish raised $14 million in a funding round led by UK-based Hara Global.

MaxIQ: Revenue intelligence startup MaxIQ (formerly Gyaan AI) raised $7.8 million in a seed funding round led by Dell Technologies Capital, with participation from Intel Capital.

Beacon.li: AI-powered enterprise solutions startup Beacon.li raised $7 million in a Series A funding round led by Sorin Investments, an early-stage Indian venture capital (VC) firm cofounded by former KKR India CEO Sanjay Nayar.
