ETtech Deals Digest: Startups raise $180 million this week, up 28% on-year

Despite the higher value, the number of deals during the week was down at 19 transactions, compared to 51 in the corresponding week last year.

Startups raised around $180.3 million between August 30 and September 5, a 28.3% increase from the $140.6 million raised during the same period last year, according to data from Tracxn.

The tally was also more than double the $88.9 million raised the previous week.

Deal activity, however, fell on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, with 19 transactions recorded this week compared with 51 a year earlier.

Top deals of the week

CityMall: Community ecommerce startup CityMall, which caters to non-metro consumers, raised $47 million in a funding round led by Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Accel.

Seekho: Short-form learning startup Seekho raised $28 million in a funding round led by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners.

FirstClub: Quick commerce startup FirstClub raised $23 million in a funding round led by venture capital firms Accel and RTP Global, who had also co-led the previous round.
