ETtech Deals Digest: Startup funding drops 54% on year to $77 million this week

The funds were raised through 14 rounds this week compared to 44 in the corresponding period last year.

Startups raised around $77 million between September 28 and October 4, marking a 54.5% decrease compared to the same period last year. This also represents an 82.5% drop from last week’s $440 million.

This week, startups raised funding through 14 rounds compared to 44 in the year-ago period, when they raised a total of $169 million, according to data from data intelligence platform Tracxn.

Top deals of the week


MStack: Specialty chemicals startup Mstack raised $40 million in a funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Alpha Wave Global.

Basic Home Loan: Fintech startup Basic Home Loan raised $10.6 million in a series B funding round led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII), the strategic investment arm of German giant Bertelsmann SE & Co.

Troo Good: Snack brand Troo Good raised $8.6 million in a funding round led by Oaks Asset Management, with participation from Puro Wellness and V Ocean Investments.

Str8bat: Sports technology startup Str8bat raised $3.5 million in a series A funding round led by Exfinity Venture Partners.
