Edtech startup Jackett has raised $1 million in seed funding led by Forge Ventures, Entrepreneur First and Epic Angels Network. Angel investors such as Carousell cofounder Siu Rui Quek and OnLoop’s Projjal Ghatak also participated.

Launched earlier this year, Jackett provides an AI- and machine learning-enabled operating system to teachers for automating time-consuming tasks such as creating, grading and personalising assessments.

The startup claims teachers have used its services in India to create over 50,000 assessment questions for students that has helped them save an estimated 7,000 hours.

“Education has reached an inflection point where new technologies can help enhance the teaching process, reduce the administrative burden, and create a better and more personalised learning experience for students at scale,” said Charlotte Trugdill, cofounder of Jackett.

Trugdill believes the funding will enable Jackett to continue building next-generation tools for teachers to do what they love and help unlock the potential of students.

The startup will use the funds in this round to improve its operating system and enter emerging markets.
