CraftifAI, a software firm focussed on tools for engineers working with embedded systems, has raised $3 million in seed funding in a round led by Ankur Capital, in which IvyCap Ventures, Capital-A, and Antler also participated.

Founded in 2025 by Pratik Sharda and Yashwant Dagar, the startup is building out an AI-powered platform to automate the creation of embedded software for edge, IoT, and AI devices.

"Embedded engineers develop the software layer on top of any hardware device. You need an application layer on top of a chip, which can translate all the business requirements of a robot, drone, or IoT device (what all it’s supposed to do) and ensure that the underlying application code that you're writing is well connected with the hardware or to a chip," explained Sharda, who’s also the CEO.

According to a statement, the company says it aims to simplify processes for engineers building intelligent systems, offering automated, hardware-optimised code generation and AI/machine learning model deployment across hardware platforms, which reduces the time and cost of development.

The company will use the fresh funds to expand its engineering and sales teams and strengthen its presence in the global embedded, edge, and Internet of Things (IoT) markets, Sharda told ET.

CraftifAI aims to make embedded software development more accessible, reduce reliance on specific hardware vendors, and help device manufacturers bring intelligent products to market faster. This includes applications in robotics, drones, industrial IoT, automotive, and consumer electronics.

The number of connected smart devices is expected to surge from 16 billion in 2023 to over 41 billion by 2030, the company said in a statement. For example, modern vehicles now contain three times more sensors and chips than a decade ago, and AI is being implemented directly on devices rather than solely in the cloud.

Sharda further added that embedded software development is a lengthy and slow process, requiring specialised skills. And given the scarcity of embedded engineers and the boom in intelligent devices, "You need more and more such engineers, but that's not scalable," he noted, and added that there are only about 2.5 million globally, which has led to an increase in development costs.

CraftifAI's claims its clients have reported that tasks which previously took days can now be completed in minutes.
