Founded in 2022, August AI aims to provide an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot to people where they can reach out for their medical needs before going to the doctor or even after their treatment starts for any kind of medical needs.
The platform will use the funds for product development, expanding its medical knowledge base, and customer acquisition.
“August is designed to be an AI health companion to support people throughout their health journey, including understanding symptoms, interpreting reports, and sharing feelings,” said Anuruddh Mishra, founder and chief executive of the company.
Users can upload documents and have their reports analysed on the chatbot. “We have a network of doctors and also work with some of the largest hospitals out of India, which helps us refine these systems,” Mishra told ET.
August AI is available in vernacular languages to help reach a larger section of society, which usually delays seeking medical attention for their needs, according to Mishra.
Besides focusing on different parts of India, the platform also aims to enter the US market. Currently, August AI has over 3.5 million users coming to its platform across 160 countries.
“Health-related search trends on Google and now ChatGPT point to a massive underserved need for personalised and accessible health information globally,” Subrata Mitra, partner at Accel, said in a statement.
“August AI has cracked the code on AI- assisted healthcare through high clinical accuracy, genuine user trust, and a reliable model that complements rather than competes with doctors and care providers,” said Pai.
