Shares of Tencent were set to open up 6.6% on Monday after the company said its Weixin messaging app has launched beta testing with Deepseek as firms race to link up with China's rising artificial intelligence startup.

Tencent shares were set to open at HK$506, their highest since July 2021. The blue chip Hang Seng Index gains 0.6% and Hang Seng Tech Index rises 1.3%
