Telegram, Elon Musk's xAI partner to distribute Grok to messaging app's users

"This summer, Telegram users will gain access to the best AI technology on the market. @elonmusk and I have agreed to a 1-year partnership to bring xAI’s @grok to our billion+ users and integrate it across all Telegram apps," Durov said in a post on X.
He further added how this deal will help Telegram's financial position. He said that the app will receive $300 million in cash and equity from xAI and 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions sold via Telegram.
Grok 3, which was described as “the smartest AI on Earth” by Musk, launched in February.
Musk had claimed that Grok 3 outperforms Alphabet's Google Gemini, DeepSeek's V3 model, Anthropic's Claude, and OpenAI's GPT-4o across mathematics, science, and coding benchmarks.
