OpenAI has rolled out its video-generation model, Sora, to users in the European Union, the UK. Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland.

On Friday, the company announced on X that ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers in these regions can now create videos using the model.

The artificial intelligence (AI) model was first introduced in February last year, but access was restricted to safety testers during its research preview phase. The model, which creates video from text, was made available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in December 2024.

“We're working on tailored pricing for different types of users, which we plan to make available early next year,” the company had said in a blog post.

Earlier this month, Adobe launched an AI tool called ‘Firefly video model’, which can generate video clips and compete with Sora.
