OpenAI rolls out Year in Review feature for select users, mirroring Spotify’s Wrapped and YouTube’s Recap

OpenAI has rolled out a Year in Review feature for ChatGPT users, designed as a personalised annual review experience.

The feature mirrors Spotify’s year-end tool Wrapped, YouTube’s Recap, and similar offerings from other internet apps.

The ‘Your Year with ChatGPT’ feature, rolled out on Tuesday, is available to users on the Free, Plus, and Pro plans, provided they have reference saved memories and reference chat history enabled and have reached a minimum level of conversation activity during the year.


Users on Team, Enterprise, or Education plans are not eligible for the feature. It is accessible on both the web version of ChatGPT and the mobile apps for iOS and Android.

The feature presents users with a visually engaging recap of how they interacted with ChatGPT throughout the year. Users are assigned personalised awards based on usage patterns.

Your Year with ChatGPT is promoted on the home screen but will only appear if users choose to engage with it. It is optional and not automatically displayed.

The feature is being released to eligible users in select English-speaking markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

“If you are in one of the countries above, check back throughout the day to see if “Your Year with ChatGPT” has rolled out to you. You can also try adding the “Your Year with ChatGPT” app by tapping the + sign and asking Chat, “show me my year with ChatGPT”,” OpenAI wrote in its blogpost.
