The AR/VR glasses, developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, combine classic Ray-Ban design with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features.
While the exact release date and pricing for India have not been disclosed, the rollout is part of a broader global expansion that also includes Mexico and the UAE. In the United States, its home market, the glasses retail at $299 (nearly Rs 29,000) onwards.
Powered by Meta’s Llama series of generative AI models, the smart glasses allow users to interact hands-free by saying "Hey Meta" to control music, send messages, or ask questions.
It can also translate speech in real time between English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
Equipped with built-in cameras and speakers, users can capture photos, record videos, and make calls using apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.
The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses were first launched in September 2023 as successors to the original Ray-Ban Stories. They have since been introduced in select markets and are now expanding to more countries, including India.
