India well-placed to scale personal Superintelligence: Meta’s Alexandr Wang
Meta’s new chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, said India is key for scaling “personal superintelligence” across the company’s platforms, with more Indian consumer AI companies than in the US. The firm plans to deploy AI that works 24/7, understands ...

“India is one of the most important countries for Meta, full stop,” he said in an interview. “It’s one of the few countries where we could scale personal superintelligence very fast... There are more Indian consumer AI companies than there are American consumer AI companies.”
Wang laid out Meta’s plans on deploying AI at scale across its apps, guided by founder Mark Zuckerberg’s “personal superintelligence” vision.
“We're moving away from AI systems that are passive and search-based to ones where they're working for you 24/7,” he said. “They understand your goals. They're able to take actions on your behalf.”
The cofounder of data-labelling firm Scale AI, in which Meta has invested $14.3 billion, is tasked with bringing a fresh, builder’s perspective to steer the social media giant through the ever-escalating AI arms race. Wang, 29, who works closely with Zuckerberg, describes the Meta chief as a “strong debater” who’s open to feedback.
