Announced at Google’s I/O 2025 developer conference in May, Veo 3 was accessible only to AI Ultra subscribers at $249.99 a month. In June, Google brought it to the more affordable $19.99 AI Pro plan under the name Veo 3 Fast. These videos are still 8 seconds long and in 720p resolution, but Google claims that they’re now twice as fast to generate, due to backend improvements.
ET reported in May that Indian users will have to wait, but they can expect future updates through Google’s Vertex AI and Gemini platforms, which could include local support.
The Indian content creators, filmmakers, and educators are already showing strong interest in Veo 3’s potential, especially for affordable video production in multiple languages.
Veo 3's powerful features can generate short videos with realistic imagery, sound effects and character dialogue. Creators can use it to produce high-quality content without spending on crew, cast, lights or cameras.
Recently, Canva also launched a new ‘Create a Video Clip’ feature backed by Google’s Veo 3 video generation model. In an announcement on its website, the company said users can now create eight-second video clips with sound using text or voice prompts.
