Google brings Nano Banana, Veo 3 to Gemini on TV; extends partnership with Qualcomm for automotive AI agents
Google announced today a major update to Gemini, its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, on Google TV, at CES 2026. At the Las Vegas tech convention, the AI assistant is set to become more visual, interactive, and practical for users.

“At this year's CES, we shared a preview of new AI capabilities for Google TV that use our Gemini models to make interacting with your TV more intuitive and helpful,” Google wrote in its blog.

The AI assistant’s responses on the TV are set to become more visual, as they will support Nano Banana and Veo 3, the AI image and video generation capabilities of Google’s LLM model.

Users will be able to get real-time sports updates and narrated, interactive explainers on chosen topics.

Beyond creative use cases, users will be able to adjust TV settings using natural voice commands, such as dimming the screen or boosting dialogue volume.

“This will make searching through your media easier than ever, and you will be able to ask questions about travel, health, space, history, and more, with videos in the results for added context. The Gemini model on Google TV also enables you to do other things like create customised artwork with the family, control your smart home devices while your TV is in ambient mode, and even get an overview of the day’s news,” Google added in its blog post.

As per media reports, the upgraded Gemini experience will launch first on select TCL Google TV models, with wider availability across Google TV devices in the coming months.

As part of the showcase, Google also announced an extension to its decade-long partnership with Qualcomm in the domain of mobility.

“(Snapdragon-powered embedded Android infotainment)... helped drive Android Automotive OS (AAOS) adoption and helped create the industry's first vehicles featuring Google built-in. Qualcomm Technologies and Google Cloud continue these joint efforts aimed at simplifying the deployment of advanced, next-generation AI agents with Gemini Enterprise for automotive —an evolution of Automotive AI Agent (AAA),” Qualcomm wrote in a press note today.
