Krutrim, the artificial intelligence (AI) startup founded by Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, has deployed DeepSeek’s advanced AI models on its domestic servers. The move is aimed at enhancing data privacy and reducing the cost of training AI models.

Aggarwal, in a post on social media platform X, said, “India can’t be left behind in AI @Krutrim has accelerated efforts to develop world class AI. As first step, our cloud now has DeepSeek models live, hosted on Indian servers.”

His comments come a day after Union information technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that DeepSeek models would soon be hosted on Indian servers.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced on January 30 that it would also host DeepSeek models on its servers.
