Bengaluru INDIA NANO 2026 to spotlight AI-nanotech convergence, commercialisation

The 14th edition of Bengaluru INDIA NANO, an international conference and exhibition on nanotechnology, will be held in Bengaluru from August 3 to 5, with a focus on the convergence of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence and accelerating the commercialisation of research.

The event is expected to bring together scientists, industry leaders, startups, investors, policymakers and technology enablers from India and abroad, an official statement said.

A curtain-raiser for the event was held at Vidhana Soudha on Saturday in the presence of Karnataka minister for Home, Electronics, IT & BT and e-Governance Priyank Kharge, senior government officials and members of the organising committee.


The conference theme this year is "Nanotech's Next Frontier: AI & Beyond – Conceive, Converge, Commercialise."

Kharge said Karnataka's strength in scientific research, backed by industry collaboration and supportive policies, has helped create an innovation ecosystem capable of translating cutting-edge research into commercially viable products.

"As artificial intelligence and nanotechnology increasingly converge, Karnataka is committed to creating an ecosystem where frontier research translates into globally competitive products, sustainable industries and solutions that improve lives," he said.

Manjula N, secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science & Technology, said Bengaluru INDIA NANO has evolved into one of India's leading platforms for translating nanoscience research into real-world applications. The event aims to strengthen Karnataka's position as a global hub for nanotechnology innovation and commercialisation, she added.

The conference will begin with pre-conference tutorials on nano fabrication, nano characterisation and nano in biology on August 3, followed by technical sessions on semiconductors, agriculture and health, and energy and environment on August 4 and 5.

The programme will feature plenary lectures, keynote sessions, technical presentations and industry roundtables involving leading researchers from India and overseas.

Besides the conference, the event will host an international exhibition, a startup pavilion, NanoSparX startup pitching sessions, investor interactions, the "Nano for the Young" programme, a nanotech quiz, poster presentations and the Bengaluru INDIA NANO Excellence Awards.

Organisers expect more than 1,000 delegates, over 80 speakers, 50 exhibitors, 200 scientific posters and participants from more than 10 countries. Industry partners include Tata Consultancy Services, Applied Materials and other technology companies.
