BENGALURU: Startup content site YourStory today launched its vernacular platform with six Indian languages -- Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Bangla, Tamil and Marathi.

Besides, these six Indian languages, services in Gujarati, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Punjabi and Oriya would also go live in the next two months, the company said in a statement.

YourStory was started in October 2008 by Shradha Sharma and since inception it has profiled stories of over 15,000 entrepreneurs.

"There are a billion plus stories waiting to be told. We have just scratched the surface. With our vernacular platform, we hope to reach every corner of our great nation and tell stories that matter thus bringing about change," YourStory Founder and Chief Editor Shradha Sharma said.

The new platform would allow one to read original and translated content in Indian languages.

" Reading and listening to stories in one's own language leaves a deep impact. With our innovative technology, we are going to make it easy for non-English speakers to tell their own stories in their own language," YourStory Vernacular Managing Editor Arvind Yadav said.
