When it comes to startups valued at $1 billion and more, the vast majority are found in the US, followed by China, according to CB Insights.

India and the UK are ranked third with seven unicorns each, although companies based in India are valued much higher at around $36 billion. The list has a total 171 unicorns valued at $622 billion, of which a fifth are ecommerce companies.
