HYDERABAD: Telangana government backed startup incubator T-Hub today launched GIS Innovation Hub (GIH) for startups in the city, powered by Esri India, the geographic information system, or GIS, software and solutions provider. As part of this partnership, Esri India will induct startups into a three year startup program where they would receive free access to Esri’s ArcGIS, a cloud-based mapping platform, software development tools and ready-to-use content.

Additionally, they will also provide training and technical support to make the adoption of GIS technology conducive for the startups.

“Esri’s vision is to enable transformation and our startup program helps realize this vision,”said Agendra Kumar, president, Esri India. “Through this program, startups in Hyderabad can leverage new dimensions of data and visualization capabilities to create breakthrough advancements and deliver innovative products.”

Founder of T-Hub, Srinivas Kollipara said, “Studies have shown that on an average, implementation of GIS technology can result in saving anywhere between 10 to 30 percent in operational expenses, through reduction in fuel use and staff time, improved customer service, and more efficient scheduling.”
