AHMEDABAD: Awaaz De Infosystems, incubated at IIM-Ahmedabad’s incubation cell, has raised an undisclosed sum in a funding round led by angel investor Samir Shah. The Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) also participated in this round, putting in three times the sum it invested in the startup in 2012.

Awaaz De did not disclose the deal size.

Founded in 2010 by Neil Patel and Tapan Parikh, Awaaz De connects organisations and communities by providing software that enables voice messages and interfaces in multiple languages. The software is essentially a social media platform built for mobile phones.

“These are exciting times for Awaaz De as we grow and diversify our customer base in India and abroad,” said CEO Patel.

Awaaz De said it has hosted more than 1 lakh callers so far.
