Shopkirana raises funds from former top executives of Samsung, Mondelez and Hola Chef

AHMEDABAD: ShopKirana, a B2B mobile-distribution platform for merchants and small retailers has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Atul Jain, former senior VP – Samsung Global HQ, JaiKumar Nair, former Senior VP of Mondelez and Anil Gelra, founder Hola Chef, along with a few other angel investors.

The Indore-based startup was founded in 2015 by Tanuteja Sarawat, Sumit Ghorawat and Deepak Dhanotiya. ShopKirana is a mobile application that can be used by retailers to order goods and pay cash at the time of delivery. It earns its revenue through trade margins from the brands that get listed on the platform.

With the advent of e-grocery players, small retailers and shopkeepers are aggressively looking for up-gradation of their own services and business model. ShopKirana is capitalizing on these rising demand. Instead of creating new infrastructure, the small retailers & shopkeepers can use Shopkirana’s platform thus converting existing wholesale cobweb into organized hub and spoke franchise system.
