Sharp increase in users as BlueStacks TV sees over 140 million downloads
PUNE: BlueStacks, a mobile gaming platform that enables users to run mobile applications on a larger screen, has seen a sharp increase in user engagement with the launch of BlueStacks TV a few months ago.

BlueStacks TV enables gamers to interact with their audience through multiple means including live-streaming their games, offering tutorials and setting up hang outs. “We are seeing 2.5 times retention with people who engage with the audience and stream games, over our regular users,” said Suman Saraf, chief technical officer of BlueStacks. Launched in 2011, BlueStacks claims to be the world’s largest mobile gaming platform for desktop computers.

“We’ve now crossed 140 million downloads worldwide and India is our second largest market with 30 million users who have downloaded BlueStacks,” Saraf said.

In addition to enabling gamers to connect with their audience, BlueStacks will also stream tournaments and other videos to tap into an otherwise inactive set of users. “This is likely to boost genres like e-sports where there aren’t too many legacy issues and bring in a new set of gamers,” said Saraf.

Next on the agenda is publishing customised content on the app player in collaboration with publishers in Europe & Southeast Asia.
