Select Ola customers to be picked up by celebrities

BENGALURU: Taxi hailing app Ola today announced a major revamp of its business-class offering in the city, where select customers will be picked up by celebrities like F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan.

The revamped Prime cabs, having a fleet of both sedans and SUVs, available exclusively to Ola Select customers, will be picked up by celebrities. These celebrities from various walks of life will interact and engage with customers, Ola Vice President (Marketing) Sudarshan Gangrade said in a statement here.

Customers stand a chance to meet the likes of F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan, stand-up comedian Abhish Mathew and super-model Milind Soman, Gangrade said.

While Narain Karthikeyan would surprise customers by driving them around in an Ola Prime, Milind Soman would share fitness secrets with customers during their ride, he said.

The all new Prime for Ola Select customers will be available in the city starting September 8 at an introductory fare of just Rs 13 per km with a base fare of Rs 100 for the first four km, he said.

A ride time charge of Re 1 per minute is also applicable. Currently, there are over 500 cars in the new Ola Prime category in the city, Gangrade said.
