Quikr ties up with home services company Fixy for QuikrServices

PUNE: Online classifieds company Quikr has tied up with home services company Fixy for QuikrServices, its home services arm. As per this tie up, any queries in the home services segment for Mumbai and Thane would be redirected to Fixy.

Tufayl Merchant, co-founder, Fixy, said, "We will be the exclusive partners for queries in the handyman segment, which includes electrician, carpenter, plumber services." As per this agreement, Fixy would have the first right of refusal to all queries generated in the Mumbai and Thane regions.

The company currently processes between 40-50 requests a day, but Merchant said that they had the capacity to ramp this up to 500 jobs a day. "We have a clear focus on the home services category, and in addition to the three areas we are present in, we will also look at entering the personal devices and indoor entertainment devices repair and maintenance space soon," said Merchant. The company plans to expand its footprint in the western region, starting with Pune, followed by Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot over the next year.
