Online grocery player Bigbasket enters Gujarat, starts operation in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: Bigbasket, one of largest online grocery players, marks its entry into Gujarat with the launch of its operation in Ahmedabad. It would soon start its operation in other cities in Gujarat.

“In next 15 days we would start in Vadodara and by the end of January will enter Surat” said Hari Menon, cofounder & CEO, Bigbasket. He further said that Bigbasket will continue to expand its presence in western India, catering to tier II markets as well.

Bigbasket plans to enter into eight tier-I cities and 20 tier-II cities by January 2016. Ahmedabad is the seventh tier-I city and soon it would enter Kolkata, which would be the eight tier-I city as per the plan.

Bigbasket will operate a central warehouse, from which all deliveries will be executed and will operate its own logistics infrastructure for customer deliveries.
