Ola's Design Head Sunit Singh quits to join Cleartrip founder's Hrush Bhatt startup

BANGALORE: Sunit Singh, head of design at Ola Cabs, has quit, and is likely to join Cleartrip cofounder Hrush Bhatt in launching a new design startup soon, according to people familiar with the development.

Singh, who joined Ola in February this year as senior vice president, is considered one of India's best designers who has been sought after by the country's biggest startups.

"He (Sunit) is clearly somebody who fills the crucial top design talent gap in the ecosystem," said an executive at a firm which recently tried to hire him.

At online travel site Cleartrip, Singh spent over four years leading the user experience design overall, and helped the company transition to the mobile app. Before that, he worked as principal UX designer at Yahoo. Singh is a JJ School of Arts graduate with a post graduate in Communication Design from the Industrial Design Centre at IIT-Mumbai.

An Ola representative did not immediately reply to questions.
