BENGALURU: Ola said it will invest Rs 200 crore to boost CNG adoption in Delhi-NCR in the next six months, in a bid to make itself compliant with regulations set by transport authorities in Delhi .

The move is also in line with Ola’s plans to make more aggressive investments in its core-taxi business to maintain its lead in the cab aggregation market. Currently, there are more than 20,000 CNG cabs registered on the Ola platform in Delhi NCR and by the coming week, the company intends to ramp it up by at least 25%.

According to Ola, drivers across Delhi NCR stand to benefit from savings of up to Rs 1,50,000 on exchanging their old diesel vehicles for a new CNG one. The announcement comes a day after Uber said it has partnered with SBI to provide collateral-free vehicle finance for driver-partners on its platform.
