The woman claimed that the incident took place during the early hours of Friday when she was going to her home in Begur at 2:15 am from her office in Koramangala.

BENGALURU: Cab-hailing application Ola issued a statement that a driver on their platform, who was accused of molesting a woman passenger, was immediately terminated from his duties after receiving the customer's complaint.

"We have terminated the driver partner from the Ola platform as soon as we received a complaint from the customer. Safety of users is of utmost importance to us and we have zero tolerance towards any such behaviour. We have assured the customer full support in further investigation," Ola said in a statement.

The woman claimed that the incident took place during the early hours of Friday when she was going to her home in Begur at 2:15 am from her office in Koramangala. "We had just crossed Bommanahalli signal when he said the roads ahead were blocked and under the pretext of reversing, he stopped, turned and groped me," the woman said in her complaint.

The police have registered a case and are looking for the driver, agencies reported. According to Ola, the driver's background check did not produce any objectionable incidents in the past. It said it would assist with any further investigation into the matter.
