NEW DELHI: Bangalore-based Northstar has launched a new safety platform for school children in-transit. The dashboard for schools can be used by school administrators to keep track of their bus fleet and the mobile app can be used by parents to keep track of their children’s location as they commute between school and home.

Northstar's founders Bobbie H. Kalra and Shyam Ramamurthy in 2011, the in-transit safety platform integrates GPS, video surveillance, and RFID technologies to facilitate school bus monitoring, school bus video surveillance and student attendance management amongst others.

It brings the mobile experience for iOS and Android and a ground-up developed dashboard for schools.

Within four years of its inception, Northstar has become as a platform for over 200 schools and 4,00,000 parents. It has a dedicated command center that ensures constant monitoring of bus fleets.
