BENGALURU: Vokal, which runs a knowledge-sharing platform, has acquihired quizzing app firm StupidChat Technologies in an all-stock deal.

It plans to use the six-member team to work on the existing products and also come up with daily engagement products for the platform.

StupidChat Technologies was founded in November 2017 by Sourav Karmakar and Saheb Roy in Kolkata before the team shifted to Bengaluru.

“They had a healthy traction in the short span of time they ran the StupidChat app. However, there were a number of players that sprouted at the same time, making the funding circumstances unfavourable,” said Mayank Bidawatka, cofounder of Vokal.

Vokal was founded by Aprameya Radhakrishna, cofounder of TaxiForSure and Bidawatka, who had earlier cofounded GoodBox, which ran a hyperlocal app. It runs a voice-first peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing platform where experts share their knowledge with seekers.
