UiPath raises $568 million in series D funding round
The company, which provides robotic process automation, said it will invest in India to train 5 lakh people on its technology.

More businesses are adopting automation as they look to reduce cost of operations. UiPath’s peer Automation Anywhere raised $300 million in November, taking its total funding to $550 million.
While the startup has primarily focused on captives in India, it is tapping local businesses considering the increased use of automation by Indian conglomerates. “We are at the tipping point. Business leaders everywhere are augmenting their workforces with software robots, rapidly accelerating the digital transformation of their entire business and freeing employees to spend time on more impactful work,” said Daniel Dines, UiPath CEO, in a statement.
The US-headquartered firm has significantly expanded its presence in India and has plans to add 1,200 people this year. Globally, UiPath currently employs more than 2,500 people.
