BENGALURU: Rahul Jaimini (in pic), who founded Swiggy along with Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy in 2014, has quit the online food ordering firm. He will be joining Pesto Tech, a career accelerator startup as their cofounder, the company said in a statement. Functions led by Jaimini including platform engineering, analytics, IT, and Swiggy Labs, will now report to Dale Vaz, the head of engineering and data science.

“Technology was crucial to what we set out to build when we started Swiggy... Rahul is a close friend of ours and we wish him nothing but the best as he goes on to pursue what he has planned next,” said Majety, CEO, Swiggy.

While Jaimini will no longer be involved in day-to-day responsibilities at Swiggy, he will continue to be a board member and a shareholder at the company. In April, Swiggy closed its latest funding round at about $156 million led by Naspers along with smaller investors Ark Impact, Korea Investment Partners, Samsung Ventures and Mirae Asset Capital Markets.
