NEW DELHI: Online marketplaces and large retailers including Walmart, Reliance Retail and Big Basket said they are adopting global standards provider GS1 India’s DataKart– for standardised validation and authentication of information on retail products.

“Adoption of the standards technology ensures companies' compliance on statutory labelling and guidelines, filtering out unauthorised products, license and certificate validation by consumers, quicker product listing, and alerts on depleted stocks and product recall,” said GS1 chief executive Ravi Mathur.
