responsAbility picks up stake in Suminter

BENGALURU: Zurich-headquartered responsAbility Investments’ PE vehicle focusing on food and agriculture has taken a minority stake in Suminter India Organics, a global organic products supply chain management company which sources, processes and exports organic and GMO-free products from Asia and Africa.

Suminter focuses on 100% organic and GMO-free products, which integrates smallholder farmers into global supply chains. It also offers support to farmers in obtaining organic certification, providing training on safe and sustainable organic farming practices with the objective of reducing costs and increasing yield, and providing a reliable market for their produce.

Akshay Dua, regional head for private equity, agriculture, at responsAbility will join the board of Suminter.
