CHENNAI: Homegrown cab hailing app Ola’s COO Vishal Kaul has resigned from the company and is in the process of moving on to a new organisation, according to sources and company representatives. Pallav Singh, an old hand at the company who also headed operations earlier, will take over the role in the interim.

“I take great satisfaction and pride that I have been part of the journey where Ola has exhibited strong growth, improved profitability and gained significant market share. While I am moving on to another exciting career opportunity, I will deeply miss the Ola family,” said Kaul in an emailed statement to ET.

An Ola spokesperson, who confirmed the development, claimed that in the interim period, Kaul’s responsibilities would be taken up by Pallav Singh, senior vice-president at Ola. Prior to Ola, Kaul was a former PepsiCo executive.

“Ola would like to thank Vishal Kaul for his invaluable contributions to the company. He has had a very good innings,” added an Ola spokesperson to ET.
