Mumbai: Grocery and milk delivery startup Milkbasket has acquired PSR Supply Chain for an undisclosed sum, as it attempts to grow customers and expand footprint in Bengaluru. PSR Supply Chain, founded in 2015, is a local egrocery store that ceased operations last month. Milkbasket has integrated its customers and offerings into its portfolio.

“The acquisition of PSR Supply Chain helps us in strengthening our customer base and offerings in Bengaluru. We are looking for acquisitions to strengthen our presence nationally,” said Anant Goel, chief executive officer of Milkbasket.

The tech-enabled ‘near-me’ concept is catching up fast among consumers and will boost growth for hyper-local platforms, according to India Trendbook 2019, a study by EY and The India Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. Milkbasket is a hyperlocal, micro-delivery platform that customers can use to order from a selection of grocery items and milk all day until midnight. The packages are delivered to homes the next morning.
