MUMBAI: Maruti Suzuki, which makes one in every two cars sold in the country, announced mentorship for five startups in the automotive space as part of its Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL) program.

The five startups - Enmovil, Docketrun, Eyedentify, Xane, and SenseGiz - underwent a three-month-long acceleration program where they were mentored by domain experts and given access to Maruti Suzuki's facilities and data to fine-tune their business model, the company said.

Following a presentation, the top three startups, SenseGiz, Xane, and Eyedentify, have been awarded sponsorship for developing the proof-of-concept with Maruti Suzuki. The other two startups will also be assisted in developing their proof-of-concept, the company said.

“Our aim is to now work along with these startups and enhance scalability of the solutions. These intelligent solutions will help enhance customer experience, among others," said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director of Maruti Suzuki.
