Kae Capital picks up 25% in Hippo Video

AHMEDABAD: Online video software service provider Hippo Video has raised a pre-series A round of funding from early-stage investor Kae Capital.

Kae Capital has picked up 25% equity for this funding round.

Founded in 2016 by ex-Zoho executives Karthi Mariappan, Nilam Chand Jain and Srinivasan Santhanakrishnan, Hippo helps in creating, editing, hosting and tracking videos.


“By 2021, 80% of world’s internet traffic will be video,” said co-founder Mariappan.

Hippo is a browser-based video tool that allows anyone with access to internet to create professional quality videos instantly and share them through GDrive, Google Classroom, YouTube and other business software.

The startup has a customer base of 30,000 users, with a majority of them based in the US.

Hippo’s prominent customers include School District of Ashland, Goulet Pens and Quick Pivot.
