EaseMyTrip to promote travel to Kerala after last year's floods

EaseMyTrip has around 2.53% users from Kerala and the company is planning to increase this number at least 15% by the end of this year.

KOCHI: The online travel aggregator EaseMyTrip plans to cash in on the tourism potential of Kerala following the state’s resurgence after the devastating floods last year.

"The state continues to generate great interest for travellers from abroad," said Nishant Pitti, co-founder and CEO of the company There has been 6.82% growth in the number of tourist arrivals in Kerala during the first quarter of 2019. The total number of tourist arrival -both domestic and foreign- was 46, 12,937 during January-March 2019 as compared with 43, 18,406 during the same period in 2018.

"Our effort is to substantially contribute to the 2019 tally catalysing the inflow of tourists and business travellers," Pitti said. The state has been successful in promoting its destinations, heritage, health and wellness sectors across the world, especially in western and west Asian markets. Now there is special effort to increase the travel from China, he said. The company is offering discount on flights to promote travel to Kerala.
