Early childhood edu startup Bulbul Apps raises Rs 3.5 crore

Founded in 2015 by Prakash Dantuluri to focus on building apps for pre-school students, Bulbul Apps had raised seed capital of $200k and another $1 million earlier.

HYDERABAD: Bulbul Apps, a Hyderabad-based early childhood learning app developer for pre-schoolers, has announced raising Rs 3.5 crore of funds in a fresh round from Xseed Partners, Operator VC, Anblicks and Infoblob.

Founded in 2015 by Prakash Dantuluri to focus on building apps for pre-school students, Bulbul Apps had raised seed capital of $200k and another $1m earlier.

Focussing so far on the Indian market, the education startup is now looking to expand into the US market. It plans to deploy the latest round funds to build B2B2C market that was showing promising growth in the number of paid parents and subscribers, the company said in a statement.


Owning own proprietary mobile-first content creation engine, Bulbul Apps has created characters, voices, art, and animation at its Hyderabad studio consisting of a team of 16 developers and 10 artists from across the world. The company is also looking at expanding its reach to the home learning market and preschools across the globe.
