HYDERABAD: Startup incubator T-Hub, which on Monday announced an innovation platform with the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), has caught the attention of beer giant Carlsberg. The brewer wants to collaborate with the incubator to address its needs. While REC plans to promote research and innovation in renewable energy, Carlsberg is looking to reduce water consumption for manufacturing beer and will be scouting for innovations in that area through T-Hub.

KT Rama Rao, Telangana’s minister for IT and industries, said, "Carlsberg currently uses 3.8 litre of water for manufacturing one litre of beer, which they want to reduce to 2-3 litre and have sought help from T-Hub. The executives from Carlsberg are expected to visit T-Hub soon."
