AHMEDABAD: Hyperlocal regional social content platform Khidki has raised an undisclosed amount in a funding round led by Axilor Ventures and with participation from Astarc Ventures, Gemba Capital, Purple Patch Ventures and Lets venture.

“The funds will be deployed for expanding into other states and enhancing our existing product,” said co-founder Kumar Saurabh.

Khdiki currently has more than four lakh users from Gujarat, and recently it was launched in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The Bengaluru-based startup was founded in 2017 by Saurabh and fellow IIIT-A (Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad) alumnus Kapil Agrawal. While Saurabh worked with the tech team at Amazon earlier, Agrawal was among the founding members of Tinyowl.

Khidki is a social network focused on hyperlocal content and town level interactions. Users can access local news, folk songs, and local performance videos, among other localised content. They can also connect and chat with other people based on the town, language and interest.
