Ascend 2020 global investor meet of Kerala draws good response

KOCHI: As many as 2,000 registrations have been made for the Kerala government’s ASCEND 2020 global investors meet, as organisers are set to close registrations for the January 9-10 event to be held in Kochi.

The number of delegates set to attend the high-profile conference convened by the Department of Industries is 500 more than the initial quota, according to K Ellangovan, principal secretary (Industries and Norka), government of Kerala.

The Department of Industries had set December 9, 2019 as the original date for online registrations for startups, but extended it till this week. Those registered qualify to showcase their products before investors, government officials and angels from across the world over attending ASCEND 2020.


The government has readied more than 100 credible projects that will be showcased to potential investors, amid initiating new policies and procedures towards ‘Ease of Doing Business’ easier, tweaking the industrial policy, revising the land assignment rules and introduced electronic platform for hassle-free interactions with the investors, industrialists and entrepreneurs.
