Amazon India loses tech chief Dale Vaz to Swiggy

BENGALURU: Amazon India’s head of technology Dale Vaz is moving on from the company and has been roped in by Swiggy, as per two people aware of the development. Vaz was with Amazon for over ten years and was heading engineering for Amazon India's consumer business since 2014. Two sources aware of the development said Vaz was leaving, and one of them said he will take over as head of engineering at Swiggy.

He is expected to work with Swiggy cofounder Rahul Jaimini, who has been heading technology at the company. Amazon India confirmed the development. "We confirm Dale Vaz has decided to move on from Amazon," a company spokesperson said. Swiggy did not comment on Vaz’s appointment and said that Jaimini continues to be the CTO at Swiggy. “Vaz was one of the top-most guys at Amazon and this is a big hire for Swiggy,” said one of the person’s cited above.
