Adopt new tech to escape trade war: Jack Ma
HANGZHOU: Alibaba founder Jack Ma has called on entrepreneurs and manufacturers in China to adopt new technologies such as IoT and big data computing to ensure they are not impacted by the ongoing trade war between China and the US. “Any country will protect new ideas, not entities,” Ma said.

“I call all entrepreneurs and manufacturing enterprises to transform. They should not be complacent,” he warned, as China is engaged in a bitter trade war with the US. Ma, who recently said he will step down as Alibaba chairman, urged the Chinese manufacturing industry, which has contributed to the ‘Made in China’ tag becoming ubiquitous across most products in many countries, to use data for “ondemand customisation”.
