Over the past five years, 79 per cent of the startup deals have come from companies based in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, with Bengaluru and Delhi claiming a majority of the country’s 10 unicorns, according to venture capital database CB Insights. Meanwhile, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad startup ecosystems have remained inactive with much fewer deals.
