BANGALORE: Pune-based kPoint Technologies has won the ‘Startup Beacon’ category award at the Zinnov Awards 2014. The awards recognises individuals and organisations which have contributed growth to research and development.

Hosted by research firm Zinnov at its technology conference ‘Confluence’ in Bangalore, kPoint was recognised for being at the forefront of developing exciting products and services.

kPoint sells cloud-based multimedia learning platform for corporates such as Infosys, Cognizant and Mercedes Benz. It is focused to make training and communication become more effective through the use of videos.

“With kPoint, enterprise video usage gets democratized and learning can be crowd sourced from all parts of an organization,” said Shridhar Shukla, managing director of kPoint. “We believe this award is a recognition of our contributions to enterprise video.”

An alumnus of IIT-Bombay and former assistant professor at US Naval Post Graduate School, Shukla founded kPoint in 2011.

The firm which is completely bootstrapped has now 200,000 users and has helped generate thousands hours of content across 50 enterprises.
