Indus OS partners Ola to extend on-demand services

BENGALURU: Indus OS has partnered with cab aggregator Ola to extend on-demand services to users of the smartphone operating system maker. With this partnership, Ola becomes the first mobility provider for all Indus OS users.

The partnership will function by integrating Ola’s services at the OS level. This integration will enable users to access Ola in English and 12 regional languages. Indus OS users will have to open their OS’ in-built messaging app and click on Ola among the suggested brand accounts to book a cab for them.

The Ola recommendation will also pop up if any message has the context of mobility – a doctor’s appointment or movie tickets, for instance. “Options of category and the cost for the ride will appear on the messaging window along with suggested prompts for response.


The messaging app will identify your location and open maps to enter the drop location. On the basis of the choice you make, it will ask for confirmation and send you the ride information,” said Rakesh Deshmukh, the CEO of Indus OS.

Indus OS has around 8 million users on smartphones such as Micromax, Intex Technologies, Karbonn Mobiles and Celkon.
