HYDERABAD: Hyperlocal services won hands-down approval from angel investors at the SmashUp event organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs ( TiE) in Hyderabad.

Of the early stage start-ups which pitched their ideas to a jury of angel investors, Sunwiz Tech India Pvt Ltd – an aggregator for car repair from Hyderabad and Mumbai based Driverr, an app-based on-demand driver service attracted the attention of multiple investors for an angel round of Rs 15 lakh per company at a dilution of 10% equity.

Sunwiz with a model similar to Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan backed Cartisan operates on a marketplace model aggregating location based car repair and maintenance. Driverr draws parallels with on-demand driver services provider in Bangalore, DriveU.

Drone assembly startup Carving Notions from the city which also design and manufactures sensors and modules targeted at industries and academic institutions also generated interest from three investors, with a promise of an angel round subject to discussion.

Due diligence for the start-ups selected for funding as a part of the SmashUp will be completed within a week. Other ideas pitched at the event included handyman services aggregator UrbServ, fashion jewellery brand Ishhta and targeted marketing platform BuyMash.
