Gloob Décor acquires Banana Interactive for undisclosed valuation

MUMBAI: Gloob Décor, an interior designing and home furniture firm has acquired Banana Interactive, a gaming and application development startup for an undisclosed valuation, the company said Friday.

With the acquisition Gloob plans to give 3D experience to its customers even in the office furnishings space. The company is one of the major interior design players in Bangalore especially in the startup space.

“Gloob envisions the idea of combining cutting edge hardware with technology enabled applications to create Special Experience Zones for retail showrooms, wherein customer can design their desired furniture by selecting each modular element and see it projected on a wall with real objects like bookshelf, vase, center table etc. to get an accurate feel of the space. BI team brings with them a valuable skill set of gamification of this experience and thus we are very excited about this development,” said Mrinal Sharma, partner, Gloob Décor.

The company is betting big on the augmented reality in the home décor market. The company estimates that this could be disrupt the Rs 1.5 crore market for the Indian décor and furnishing.

“In future such functionalities will have Augmented Reality wherein people will be able to view objects in 360 degree format in their home environment and making structural changes to the objects,” said Ritesh Ranjan, co-founder Banana Interactive.
